Residents Invited to Help Launch New District 12 Neighborhood Association and Learn About Proposed Zoning Updates

La Crosse, WI (July 2026) — Residents of La Crosse’s District 12 are invited to attend a community meeting on Tuesday, August 18, that will both kick off the formation of the new District 12 Neighborhood Association and provide an update on the City’s ongoing zoning code rewrite.

The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Room 232 at Central High School.

The event offers neighbors an opportunity to connect with one another, learn about the creation of the new neighborhood association, and hear directly from City of La Crosse Planning & Development staff about proposed zoning updates that may affect the area.

Neighborhood associations play an important role in strengthening communities by providing residents with a voice in local issues, encouraging collaboration, and helping shape the future of their neighborhoods. Organizers encourage anyone who lives, works, or owns property within District 12 to attend and become involved from the beginning.

Following the neighborhood association discussion, City staff will provide an overview of the proposed zoning code update, explain how the process is moving forward, and answer questions from attendees.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
